All Visible Planets Observable – Software Update
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) March 31, 2004
All five visible planets now appear in the night sky. JPL’s Myles Standish, creator of the DE405 ephemeris used for numerous space missions, has said this current configuration will probably give the best viewing conditions for all visible planets (plus the Moon) until the year 2036. This online ephemeris is free.
The ephemeris currently shows positions of the major planets, Chiron, Quaoar, and Sedna for 1900-2100.
Information for the major planets is from JPL’s DE405 ephemeris. Chiron, Quaoar, and Sedna are computed from the Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics orbital elements for those bodies.
ephemeris.com is a website dedicated to information about time and motion in the Universe, with an emphasis on the Solar System.
